The Gate Kitchen, Bar & Terrace is a welcome addition to the dining scene in Richmond! Set opposite Richmond Park’s iconic Richmond Gate, it offers relaxed all-day dining with excellent food and drink, an unpretentious atmosphere and great value. Its setting, passion for flavour, and vibrant bar means it has all the ingredients to create a real neighbourhood vibe. It is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner every day.

The Gate offers light, contemporary dining using seasonal ingredients in its beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, and creates a bar and dining experience that blend seamlessly into each other. The glasshouse drenches the inside area with loads of natural daylight, and this then opens up onto a beautifully landscaped garden terrace which is perfect for al fresco dining. The botanical theme continues inside, where the interior beautifully combines vivid colour, plant life, bold patterns, and statement lighting.

John Pollard, Chef Director of The Gate, has developed its Kitchen concept. The menus take a modern brasserie style, with seasonally-inspired a la carte dishes, and a particular emphasis on comfort food and modern cooking techniques. The Kitchen team sources fresh, locally grown produce and wild-caught seafood and farm-assured meats to create the freshest and most delicious dishes. On the menu you’ll find a great selection of starters and mains alongside vegetarian options and sensational desserts.

Serving coffees and seriously good cocktails all day, The Gate’s Bar is a great place for people to get together, whatever the occasion. What better way to enjoy a glass of fizz than perched at the gorgeous bar with marble counter, leather panelling, and chrome metalwork. As day turns to night, the atmosphere shifts and The Gate transforms into a vibrant bar, with live music and DJs… you can keep up to date with its events programme online.

It is open from 7.00am-10.00pm Monday to Thursday, from 8.00am-10.30pm on Fridays & Saturdays, and from 8.00am-9.00pm on Sundays & bank holidays.
