coronavirus parks playgrounds

In these difficult times, we know that lots of you will still be wanting to take a walk, run or cycle to get some exercise, particularly if you have kids that need a runaround! With this in mind, we’ve compiled an update of our local parks and historic houses to let you know what’s open and what you can expect when you get there. It goes without saying that everyone is being asked to follow government advice to keep washing hands and maintain distance from each other, but we are lucky that we can still enjoy a few of these wonderful sites.

This update doesn’t include all the council maintained green spaces, which remain open at this time. Please bear in mind that playgrounds and cafes are now closed though.

We will do our best to update as and when anything changes. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy.

CORONAVIRUS: LAST UPDATE 5TH APRIL 2020

.

Bushy Park:

Please practice social distancing within the Royal Parks to ensure that they remain open for all. Remain at least 2 metres (6 feet) apart from others with no gatherings of more than 2 people outside your immediate household at any time. There should be no groups of people cycling, walking or jogging, no group picnics and no sitting on a bench next to someone outside your household. We strongly advise dogs on leads at this time to support government social distancing guidelines. Take-away cafés and kiosks are closed. Roads are closed to traffic but cycling is permitted. All playgrounds are now closed until further notice. All fitness training licences – both for personal fitness trainers and those who run group sessions – have been suspended.

.

Chiswick House:

Chiswick House Gardens is a lifeline for exercise, fresh air and mental wellbeing for many. They want to stay open but will have to close if their visitors don’t follow the Government’s social distancing advice.
