San Remo Barnes

San Remo BarnesSan Remo in Barnes is a fantastic choice if you want an authentic Italian dining experience with amazing Italian food. Describing itself as a trattoria-style restaurant, San Remo opened its doors in 1991 with a vision of bringing a taste of native Italy to Barnes. It has since built a loyal following, and attracts diners from all over London as a result of its excellent food and ambience. San Remo prides itself on “generous portions of honest food made with love from only the freshest ingredients – served on large white plates in a relaxed, cosy setting where every guest is treated like family”… and it certainly lives up to its promises. Don’t just take our word for it though, take a look at the many complimentary comments on Trip Advisor.

San Remo BarnesSan Remo’s menu is extensive, full of Italian favourites. Starters include bruschetta, prosciutto & melon, deep fried calamari, minestrone soup, grilled tiger prawns in a spicy sauce, and many more. To follow there are many pasta and risotto options, alongside fish, chicken and meat main courses. These include everything from delicious hearty steak & mushrooms through to delicate fillets of sea bass with a seafood & saffron sauce. Being Italian, San Remo also of course offers a delectable range of authentic home-cooked pizza.

San Remo BarnesThe restaurant itself is situated at the north end of Castelnau quite near Hammersmith Bridge. The main dining area is at the front of the restaurant, and is delightfully decorated with white painted walls covered with signed photographs of film stars and musicians, alongside plants in hanging baskets hung from the ceiling. There is also a room at the back of the restaurant, of a similar style and with a large skylight giving it plenty of natural light – this can also be hired for private dining and seats up to 24 people. The atmosphere is cosy but airy, and full of character.

San Remo BarnesAs you’d expect, the staff at San Remo is also authentically Italian! The kitchen is headed up by head chef Antonio, alongside his team Fernando and Lorenzo. The front of house staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is helpful and efficient – they’re all very welcoming, and you feel like you’re in good hands.
