Annie's BarnesAnnie’s is deservedly a Barnes institution. It’s fabulous any time of day – whether you want to pop in for a quick coffee or cocktail, or enjoy a delicious meal from a menu full of innovative dishes as well as well-loved classics. Annie’s owner is Lorraine Angliss (Annie is her middle name) and she’s been a restaurateur for more than 25 years. Before that, she got off to an early start playing at pretend cafes in her backyard as a child. Once grown, she set up the Sticky Fingers restaurant group for Rolling Stone Bill Wyman before opening her own restaurant, Annie’s, first in Chiswick and then in Barnes.

Annie's BarnesAnnie’s is open for brunch, lunch and dinner every day. You can enjoy al fresco dining at the front or rear of the restaurant, or indoors in the main restaurant. There’s also a large private dining room with seating for up to 35 diners. If you go along on weekdays you can choose from a prix fixe menu at lunchtime, which costs £16.95 for two courses.

There is also a kids menu including popular choices such as fish & chips, burgers, chicken, pasta and risotto. On Sundays they do a kiddie size portion of their Sunday roasts. There’s also lots to keep little ones busy at Annie’s. There’s a toy box, books, and also colouring competitions. Pictures are put up on the wall and once a month a winner is picked by the staff. Annie’s is one of Barnes’s most family-friendly restaurants. There’s lots of space for buggies, baby changing facilities are located in the ladies toilet, and high chairs are plentiful.

Annie's BarnesLorraine (Annie) describes her cuisine as ‘modern Brit-erranean’; a unique mix that blends the best of fresh Mediterranean flavours with good old fashioned comfort food. It goes without saying that Annie’s does a Sunday roast. And Annie’s sticky toffee pudding is, as Lorraine herself happily admits, ‘famed throughout the land. Well, West London at least…’.
